Akron's Winter Fest To Combat Cabin Fever Through Feb. 19

Summit County's Winter Fest at Lock 3 is an ice skating extravaganza. Cost is $4 to rent, $2 to bring skates.

STOW, OH -- Akron's Winter Fest will run through Feb. 19, 2018. The winter extravaganza includes "Ohio's largest seasonal ice skating rink." Cost is $4 to rent skates, and $2 to bring your own. Skate lessons are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Along with the main ice skating rink, other activities include Polar Putt-Putt, Reindeer Run and Polar Cub Rink. (Please note that Polar Putt-Putt, Reindeer Run and Polar Cub Rink open an hour after the main rink opens and they close an hour before the main rink closes.) For unlimited access to skating, Putt-Putt and sled hill, patrons can purchase an Arctic Adventure Pass for $10 (save $5.) The Arctic Adventure Pass includes a hotdog, chips and a drink.

Main Ice Skating Rink:

  • The rink is closed Mondays.
  • Tuesdays/ Wednesdays / Thursdays -- 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Fridays / Saturdays -- 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Sundays, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Closed, Mondays, Christmas and New Years Day.

  • Polar Putt-Putt -- A nine-hole indoor golf course. Cost is $3
  • Reindeer Run Slide -- 150-foot, all -season slide designed for ages 14 and younger. Sleds are provided. Cost is $3.
  • Polar Cub Rink -- The polymer surface is designed for children ages 12-years and younger who are learning how to skate.

Please note that Polar Putt-Putt, Reindeer Run and Polar Cub Rink open an hour after the main rink opens, and they close an hour before the main rink closes.
