Dear Stow Residents,

"First, and foremost, I want to thank you all for the overwhelming support for our Stow Strong Celebration events this year! As we move toward normal, we must still take precautions to make sure all of our residents feel comfortable participating in our community events. Our Fun in Stow Play Day, Patriotic Pedal Bike Parade, Together Stow Strong Parade were all a huge success! We look forward to presenting you with a “back-to-normal” Stow Summer Sunset Blast this Labor Day Weekend. I can’t wait to see you all there!

I am excited to share with you that we are hard at work on the City Center Project, a development plan that will create a community gathering space on the site of the former SKIP Playground and adjacent property. This project is an important undertaking for the City of Stow, and we want to make sure it is done thoughtfully and with the community’s best interest in mind. We are very excited regarding the progress we’ve made. We are all working very hard on the planning and fundraising to make this space a reality. This first step will focus on the rebuild of Skip Playground. Groundbreaking is expected to take place this Fall, with installation of playground components next Spring. This project will serve as an anchor for a comprehensive, long-term plan to develop a focal center for our city. Once complete, the City Center will be a family-friendly, fun, safe and inviting place for all residents to visit, play, exercise and enjoy! We appreciate the public’s continued support on this initiative. This project is going to bring so much joy to everyone in our community, and we are just as eager to see this completed as our citizens are. It is a project we can all be proud of!

The City of Stow, with the assistance of an outside consulting firm, will be undertaking a Parks and Recreation Master Plan to establish priorities for the future of our parks, trails, recreation facilities, programs and services within the City. This plan is critical to the city in deciding how we move forward. You will be hearing much more about this process as we move along. We will be engaging the community as part of the plan process. Later this year, there will be an online survey that will be available to the general public and I encourage you to participate in that as well.

Great things are happening in Stow, and I thank you once again for your continued support!"

Sincerely,

Mayor John Pribonic
City of Stow
