Kinnan previously ran for Mayor in 2011 and believes that he can provide a fresh view of city issues along with ideas based on facts and less on emotion as has been seen recently in Stow.
One key issue Kinnan will focus on is financial integrity of the Stow budget. As we have all seen the results of poor fiscal management recently in cities such as Detroit, Stow must have a balanced budget to insure long term stability for the city, its employees and its residents. Other key issues are the revitalization of the Stow Kent Plaza and the need to insure that this project does not overwhelm the city's infrastructure as the residential portion is built out. This is vital given the track record of the developer involved in the Plaza for all these years. Kinnan is an ardent supporter of private property rights and believes that all elected officials have a sacred duty to ask themselves anytime they vote on legislation be it zoning, property codes and the like how this will affect the property rights of their constituents. Kinnan is committed to defend the private property rights of the residents of Stow at all times including the rights of rental property owners from excessive or onerous regulations that would negatively impact their property or its value.
