Parkinson's HelpLine Expands to Include Interpreters in More than 200 Languages
WHAT: Do you have questions about life with Parkinson’s disease? Find answers by contacting the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation’s (PDF) toll-free National HelpLine at (800) 457-6676 or info@pdf.org. PDF’s trained information specialists can link people with Parkinson’s disease with local movement disorder specialists, support groups and resources, where available. The National HelpLine is also available to answer questions about the disease and provide free copies of educational materials from our extensive library (print and online). For those whose primary language is not English, the PDF National HelpLine has now expanded to offer interpreters in more than 200 languages.
WHO: The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation® (PDF®) supports the scientific research and ideas that will improve the lives and futures of people who are touched by Parkinson’s disease. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has invested nearly $157 million in research, education and advocacy programs.
WHY: As many as one million Americans live with Parkinson’s disease, a chronic and progressive movement disorder. Each person’s journey with the disease — including its symptoms, side effects and medication management — is unique. While there is no cure, there are many strategies that people with Parkinson’s disease can employ to manage their disease and ensure the best quality of life. PDF is dedicated to providing the latest information to people living with Parkinson’s disease, their loved ones and the professionals that care for them.
