Registration for Girls on the Run Season Now Open
Dynamic Northeast Ohio program devoted to empowering girls now accepting registrations for Fall season

Registration for the fall season of Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio opens on August 20th at 9:30 a.m., marking its 18th season serving the Northeast Ohio area.
Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio (gotrNEO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching life skills to young girls through dynamic, interactive lessons. The chapter started with its first team of 12 girls in 2007 and the organization has since grown to cultivate the spirit and sense of self for young girls throughout Summit, Medina, Cuyahoga, Portage and Lorain counties. During the Spring 2015 season, the non-profit saw more than 900 girls participate in the confidence-building curriculum.
Meeting twice a week for 10 weeks, gotrNEO teaches life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The 20-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and teaches girls about understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork, and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment.

The Girls on the Run program reaches young girls at an important time in their development to discuss topics relevant in their daily lives. “At Girls on the Run we use the power of running to provide girls with the tools to celebrate their bodies, honor their voices, recognize their gifts and activate their personal power,” said Robyn Cutler, Council Director for Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio. “These are important for girls of all ages but are especially important lessons during the tender pre-teen age.”
This season gotrNEO will introduce a brand new curriculum developed by Girls on the Run International. The new curriculum maintains the core values of Girls on the Run while introducing several new, exciting and engaging enhancements.
