Stow has been well represented in all the United States Armed Forces since its earliest days. How often do we acknowledge the men and women who have served? Memorial Day, of course, and Veterans Day, as well. But what about other days? Not just holidays, but “regular” days. Days when we see the American flag flying, and we recognize that it’s those brave people who have kept it flying for us for all these years.

The City of Stow and The Stow Arts Commission invite the Stow community to help plant a United States Flag “garden” at the Doughboy Corner (Rte. 91 & Graham Rd.) of City Hall grounds. US flags from young and old and everyone in between will be “planted” where the flowers were throughout the summer. Thank you to BSA for girls troop #7270 for assisting Stow Arts Commission with placing flags that were “planted” last Fall at the Doughboy corner. With their help, our Flag garden is blooming nicely, however, we welcome many more flags!

Families, individuals, veterans – everyone—is asked to bring a US flag or two and plant them for everyone to see. Flags will be out now through Memorial Day and then be moved to in front of the Safety Building and remain up until Labor Day. Since we’re honoring our US veterans, only US flags will be “planted.”

Flags on a stick that you can place in the ground – 3” x 6” or 10” x 16”.
The more that are planted, the better it will look. Please stop by and plant your flag(s). You’ll know where they go as we already have many “planted”.

Join us and Honor / Thank or remember a Veteran! Plant a flag!
