Sports Slate : Two area college teams see action this weekend

Two area college teams are in action this weekend, taking winning streaks to the parquet in Claremore and Connecticut.

In Claremore the Rogers State women’s basketball team are looking for their first back-to-back win of the season Saturday when they welcome Missouri’s 4-3 Rockford Hawks to the Expo Center.

The Hillcats overwhelmed Randall Saints (7-6) on Friday 85-47 to move to 4-6 on the year. Saturday’s game will tip at 3:00pm.

Tulsa’s men’s basketball squad are in Connecticut for a nationally televised matchup. The 8-3 Golden Hurricane’s face the 5-4 Dayton Flyers in the middle game of the Air Force Reserve Hall of Fame Holiday Showcase.

The six-team, three-game event is set for Sunday afternoon at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, a few minutes north of New London, Connecticut. The game tips at 2:30pm.

Northeastern State’s teams are idle this weekend.
