Tulsa Animal Welfare Looks To ‘Clear The Shelter’ August 17

Adoption fees will be reduced to $10 for dogs and cats from noon to 6 p.m. at the shelter.

From the City of Tulsa: Tulsa Animal Welfare is proud to announce its participation on Clear the Shelters Day on Aug. 17, 2019, from noon to 6 p.m. at its shelter at 3031 N. Erie Ave.

Adoption fees will be reduced to $10 for both dogs and cats, which will include spay/neuter services, a rabies vaccination, and age-appropriate vaccinations. Microchips are also included thanks to a grant from the Watershed Animal Fund. Animals already spayed or neutered will be available to go home on the same day.

New this year, the City of Tulsa Employment Office will set up during the event to accept job applications, conduct interviews, and highlight available jobs at Tulsa Animal Welfare.

In 2018, 169 animals were adopted during the event. ‘Clear the Shelter’ is a national campaign promoting pet adoption, with multiple local shelters taking part this year.
