Big Brothers Big Sisters CEO Announces Hillsboro City Council Bid
Beach Pace hopes to step in for outgoing Ward 1 city councilor Darell Lumaco, whose term expires in December.

From The Campaign To Elect Beach Pace For City Council: Local leader and community advocate, Beach Pace, is running for the open Ward 1 seat on the Hillsboro City Council. The seat will be vacated by Dr. Darell Lumaco who will term out December 2018.
The election will take place on November 6.
Pace, currently the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), Columbia Northwest, has spent her life in service through the US Army and leadership in both corporate and community organizations. She has over 25 years of senior leadership experience.

Pace is running to build a better community. She holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Masters in Public Administration from Northern Michigan University, where she studied leadership in public service. She has spent over a decade serving communities, through leadership and volunteering.
Beach is an active member in the Hillsboro community and currently serves on the Hillsboro Planning Commission.

Pace graduated in the second class of the Hillsboro Civic Leadership Academy in Fall 2017, a citizens academy that helps community members connect and learn about Hillsboro. The 2017 program presented to the City Council regarding opportunities to support entrepreneurs in Hillsboro by creating an entrepreneurial incubator space.
Pace has stewarded grant money and led physical service projects within the Hillsboro School District.
Beach is an active volunteer with the Hillsboro School District including chairing the committee for the Jackson Elementary School Fall Fest, a community building event, from 2013 through 2017.
Pace’s proven leadership shows her dedication and commitment to a more accessible and safe community for all.
Pace wants to bring her leadership to the community, her priorities if elected are to increase affordable housing, access to public transportation, school security and resources, and Hillsboro’s commitment to supporting small businesses.
“Service has always been at the heart of what I do,” said Pace. "I want to bring my leadership skills and experience to the Hillsboro City Council. Everyone should have a voice and every person should be able to engage with and benefit from the community that we are building in Hillsboro, both today and in the future.”
Pace lives in Hillsboro with her wife, Jincy, a Sergeant for the Hillsboro Police Department, and their two children, Aidan and Conor.
