Cultural Arts Initiative Focus of Hillsboro Comapny

The Hillsboro-based Willamette Dental Group is undertaking a cultural arts initiative based at their headquarters.

The centerpiece of the new initiative was the unveiling of The Back of the Neck by Jean-Michel Basquiat, a leading figure in the net-expressionist movement of American art.

The piece is being loaned to the dental group by the company's CEO, Dr. Eugene Skourtes.

Willamette Dental says it is the first step in an initiative that will bring art and photography to the offices, art that can be enjoyed by the community.

"It’s more than being just a dentist and practicing dentistry, it’s also participating in our community," said Dr. Skourtes. "I want to give the opportunity for our employees to be able to go to the museum and hopefully get inspired."
