Downtown Partnership Looking to "Activate" Downtown with Color and Space

Organization looking at ways to make downtown more vibrant.

The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership is looking at ways to spruce up downtown with some splashes of color and public gathering spaces.

The organization posted a picture to their Facebook page, asking for feedback from the community.

"Our Design Committee is discussing activating areas of Downtown with public gathering spaces and pops of color," they wrote. "How do you feel about something like this in Downtown?"

The response has been generally favorable, with comparisons to Castro Street in San Francisco and adjectives including "fun," "awesome," and great."

One person asked if the partnership was serious and the partnership said, "Yes, we are."

The partnership also wrote that there would be no street closures; that it would be "more of an installation in alleyways. Enhancing the pedestrian feel."

The project is sign studied by their design committee and is in the planning stages.
