Hagg Lake Drowning: Relatives of Family that Drowned Sue County for Millions
Family argues county failed to warn swimmers of dangerous conditions.

A family that lost four members in a tragic day at Hagg Lake two years ago is suing Washington County for not doing enough to warn swimmers of dangerous conditions at the lake.
The $4 million suit was filed in May and first reported Friday by the Oregonian.
The suit says that three generations of the Garcia-Ixtacua family didn't have to die in August 2014 when a three-year-old boy, his mother, his uncle, and his grandmother all drowned.

The suit charges that the county should have warned people about a deep trench off the wading area that resulted in a steep drop off.
The boy went under first and his relatives all died trying to save him.

The county - which has since installed a life jacket kiosk - argues that they are immune from the suit and even if they weren't, they were not responsible; the family had been negligent.
