Hillsboro Airport Master Plan Public Meeting Next Week
The Master Plan advisory committee will continue its discussion about the airport's future in a public forum Dec. 7 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

HILLSBORO, OR - From Port of Portland: The first of three key meetings that will influence the way Hillsboro Airport develops over the next 20 years is scheduled Dec. 7. The community is invited to attend.
As part of the update of the Hillsboro Airport Master Plan, the planning advisory committee will meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Hillsboro City Hall auditorium, 150 E. Main St.
The committee will begin discussing alternatives for how the airport could develop, like airfield improvements, future tenant and flight school locations, and areas that could be redeveloped. The community is invited to observe the committee discussion and share thoughts. The committee will continue providing input and recommendations for the master plan's preferred alternative for development during the next two meetings on March 21 and June 21.
The master plan update is exploring the role of the airport, existing assets and facilities, and the forecast and alternatives for future development. The committee is providing planning input to the Port of Portland, which owns and operates the airport. The committee is comprised of former airport advisory committee members, community organizations, local government and airport businesses. The process, which began in February, will take two years.
