Hillsboro Police Name Teen Shot To Death, Make Arrest in Case
Luis Hernandez-Garcia was found by police just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday in a home on Northeast Grant Street in Hillsboro.

HILLSBORO, OR – A teenager was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a home in Hillsboro. Police have made an arrest in the case.
Police responded to 1192 Northeast Grant Street just before 2 p.m. after getting a report that gunshots had been heard. Inside they found 19-year-old Luis Hernandez-Garcia of Hillsboro. He had been shot to death.
The shooting prompted nearby Poynter Middle School to go briefly into lockdown. That situation lasted less than 10 minutes.

Police arrested 20-year-old Ulizes Escobar of Hillsboro and charged him with manslaughter.

Neither Escobar nor Hernandez-Garcia lived in the home where the shooting took place.
Officials have not yet disclosed what led to the shooting or how the two knew each other.
