Oregon State Beavers Finish Second in the Country

They may have lost to UConn in the Final Four but the Lady Beavers of Oregon State impressed enough to snare the number two spot in the final USA Today/Coaches Poll.

That poll does a final ranking after the NCAA Tournament and the coaches placed Oregon State right behind the Huskies and ahead of Syracuse, who lost the championship to UConn, and Baylor, who the Beavers beat to get to the Final Four.

The number two ranking is the highest for either of Oregon State's basketball programs ever.

The Beavers finished the year 32-5 and won the Pac-12 regular season title and post-season tournament.

The coaches put four other Pac-12 teams in the top 20: Washington (8), Stanford (11), UCLA (13), and Arizona State (16).

The Beavers finished sixth in the Associated Press poll, which was done before the NCAA Tournament.
