Intel Buys Sports Virtual Reality Company
Last month, Intel and the NBA showed off what freeD technology can do. Today Intel announced they bought the company responsible.

Last month, Intel teamed with the NBA and Israel-based Replay Technologies to show off a new way to watch sports.

Using Replay's freeD format, which uses high-end cameras and computers to allow the viewer to see the action from any angle.

On Wednesday they announced that they have purchased the company for an undisclosed sum.
Intel Senior Vice President Wendell Brooks said in a statement that the technology will not just add to the viewing experience, it will help those involved in sports, on and off the field, improve their games.
"For athletes, coaches, broadcasters and fans, the ability to capture, analyze and share data adds compelling new dimensions to the game," Brooks wrote.
