Abington Basketball Star Nominated As McDonald's All-American
An Abington High School basketball star has been nominated a McDonald's All-American.

ABINGTON, PA -- Abington basketball star Lizzie O'Leary has been nominated as a McDonald's All-American, the most prestigious honor for a high school basketball player in the nation.
O'Leary, a senior power forward, is 6 feet, two inches tall. She is ranked the #55 player at her position in the nation by ESPN.
A total of 21 girls from Pennsylvania were nominated to the team. Becoming nominated is just the first step. The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls will be selected on January 15.

Five of those 21 girls are from Montgomery County schools.
O'Leary has signed a national letter of intent to play for the University of Delaware after she graduates.

Nominees were selected high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee.
Those athletes will compete during the 40th annual games on Wednesday, March 29 at Chicago's United Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
