Abington Forecast: Snow, 'Exceptionally' Cold Temperatures On the Way

ABINGTON, PA -- Just before winter officially arrives, real winter weather looks to be on the way to Montgomery County.

A front is moving toward the region that is expected to bring wind chills into the single digits, snow, freezing rain, and more by the end of the week.

Total snow accumulation could range from 2 to 5 inches, with the bulk of it coming overnight Friday and throughout the day Saturday.

Saturday December 17

Mixed precipitation (2–4 in. of snow) until afternoon, starting again overnight. High 47, low 22.

Chance of precipitation: 78%. Wind 8 mph from the SSW

Residents of Montgomery County who need shelter during a Code Blue can go to the Coordinated Homeless Outreach Center (CHOC) in Building 53 at the Norristown State Hospital grounds. If needed, transportation will be provided. The CHOC is a 50-bed shelter for single residents. The phone number for the CHOC is 610-292-9244. Families are sheltered at the Salvation Army in Norristown or Pottstown.
