Abington Hospital Is The 11th Best In PA: U.S. News

ABINGTON, PA — Jefferson Health-Abington Hospital is one of the best in the entire state, according to new rankings and analysis issued by U.S. News.

The local hospital placed 11th overall in Pennsylvania, which is an improvement of two spots over its 2018 ranking.

Hospitals are ranked by an analysis of 12 categories, including cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, and more.

While Abington is not nationally ranked in any specialty, it was listed as "high performing" by U.S. News in urology, nephrology, and gastroenterology.

Five of its procedures were also highly ranked, including hip replacement, knee replacement, colon cancer surgery, and treatment of heart failure and COPD.

Overall, two Pennsylvania hospitals made the honor roll and 26 hospitals were on the state's best hospitals list.
