Abington Named Among 'Best Suburbs To Raise A Family' In PA
Abington ranks 92nd in the state. Do you agree?

The township recently ranked 92nd in Pennsylvania in a “Best Suburbs to Raise a Family” list, compiled by information services provider Niche.com.
“Abington Township is a suburb in Pennsylvania with 55,433 residents,” the study states. “It has very high home values, high rent costs, and average unemployment levels. Its citizens generally have high education levels and high income levels.”

The township was given an overall grade of “A+.”
The top suburb in Pennsylvania on the list was nearby Narberth.

New York’s Scarsdale, in Westchester County, took top honors nationally. Narberth was second in the nation.
The list analyzed the following factors for each suburb:
- Crime and safety
- Education
- Access to libraries
- Community
- Housing
- Access to day cares
- Access to grocery stores
- Percentage of residents 35-44 years old
- Percentage of residents 9-years-old and under
