Original story
Polls are closed across Pennsylvania and in the Lansdale area in the 2021 primary election, and results will soon start trickling in.
Abington area voters have a number of municipal races to decide during this primary and November's general election, including school board, borough council, judge's seats, and more.
In the school board race, there are four open seats for four year terms. Eight are on the Democratic ballot, and five on the Republican ballot.
The eight Democrats competing for four slots are Leah Fesi, Brian Allen, John Stadvec, Angelique Frazier, Robert Wolf, Paul Morse Jr., Jocelyn Jones Pickford, and Yaaslyn Muhammad.
Muhammad, Frazier, Allen, and Fesi are running together as liberal choices, and are the only candidates that have the endorsement of the Abington-Rockledge Democrats.
On the Republican side are cross-filing candidates Robert Wolf, John Stadvec, Paul Morse Jr., Jocelyn Jones Pickford, and Brian Allen.
Wolf, Stadvec, and Morse have been endorsed by the Keeping Kids in Schools group, which lobbied in Abington and elsewhere to reopen districts to in-person education.
The Democratic race for Abington Tax Collector is also contested, between Cathy Spaulding and Jay Blumenthal. Virginia Malloy is running unopposed on the Republican ballot.
Primary voters across Pennsylvania also cast votes on several ballot questions, including a proposed constitutional amendment that would curb the governor's powers in a public health emergency.
