Abington Student Named Athlete of the Week

ABINGTON, PA -- Abington Senior High School has named their student of the week: sophomore Tamia Wessels.

Wessels, a member of the girls basketball team, came off the bench to fire up a late rally in Abington's recent battle against Council Rock North, the school said.

Her six points were crucial in the Ghosts upset of CRN, who leads the conference.

"Tamia’s six points included two clutch baseline floaters in the fourth quarter," the school said in a post recognizing Wessels.

Abington won the game, 42-41. They now sit at 13-4.
