Abington Students Honored At Local Youth Film Festival

Four Abington students were honored for their work on four different films during a special awards ceremony held online.

ABINGTON, PA — Four Abington students were honored for their work on four different films by a local youth film festival.

Seniors Jasmine Williams and Alicia Whisman, both seniors, won best sound design for their film "Drowning" at the 12th Annual Greenfield Youth Film Festival.

Williams also earned second place in the narrative category for her film "Bob."

Meanwhile, senior Madison Youth won best comedy film with her entry "Riiinngg."

Finally, senior Valerie Neske tied for first place in the animated category for her film "Boo!"

The 12th Annual Greenfield Youth Film Festival held a special awards ceremony online to recognize all winners.

Aspiring filmakers from 21 high schools around the region participated in the festival, and a total of 250 films were submitted for review.


A jury of 25 judges from the nationwide film and communications industry judged the entries.

The festival is a partnership between the Greenfield Foundation, Upper Dublin Education Foundation, and the Upper Dublin School District.
