Abington Teacher Honored By Phillies During Monday's Game

Well done to one of Abington School District's finest, Overlook Elementary's Karima Boyd.

ABINGTON, PA — One of the Abington School District's finest teachers was recognized during a special ceremony during the Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park last week.

Karima Boyd, an elementary curriculum specialist at Overlook Elementary School, was nominated by her former student Daulton Larr.

The honor is given yearly to 10 teachers from around the greater Philadelphia area. Teachers are nominated by parents, other teachers, current students, and former students.

Specifically, to nominate a teacher, an original essay, 500 words or less must be written about the teacher, noting how the teacher "had a positive impact on your life" on the life of a child.

Winning teachers receive two free Phillies tickets, as well the opportunity to be honored on the field.
