Abington Twp Police Department Partner Up For Food Drive

Food collected will be distributed to food pantries across the township.

ABINGTON, PA — On Aug. 1, Abington Township Police Department is joining forces with others in the community to gather food for the township's food cupboards.

In a Facebook post, police said they're partnering up with Huntingdon Valley and Roslyn Giant Food Stores, the Roslyn and McKinley Fire Companies, Second Alarmers Ambulance, C.A.P.T, A.C.T and the Abington Township Police Association.

The food drive will be held on August 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Giant Food Stores in Huntingdon Valley and Roslyn.

Donors are asked to bring non-perishable food supplies or to buy them while inside the store and drop them off when exiting.

"It is a wonderful opportunity to help those in our community who need assistance," police wrote on Facebook.
