Arcadia University’s Community and Civic Engagement Center (CCEC) will host a “Give and Shred” event in honor of Martin Luther King Day of Service on Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Members of the public can securely shred documents with Wiggins Shredding Company and ProShred. This year, CCEC will only collect:

  • books for Project HOME;
  • non-perishable food for Arcadia’s Knights for Nutrition food pantry;
  • professional wear for Career Wardrobe, a nonprofit social enterprise that uses clothing and professional development to empower unemployed individuals to work;
  • semi-formal and formal dresses to benefit The Covenant House, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and support services for homeless and displaced adolescents; and
  • cash donations that will contribute to other CCEC service projects.

E-waste and other items will not be accepted.

Attendees must use the Church Road campus entrance, where they will be directed toward Murphy Hall to drop off donations. From there, they will be directed to one of the five shredding trucks available.
For more information, contact CCEC.
