In every community, members face personal health obstacles and struggles that can be difficult to venture alone. Thankfully, there are special days and months dedicated to reminding us about the millions of people affected around the world with such conditions, and how we can better show support and appreciate those fighting. One of the months best know for its ‘fighters’ is October – the month dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness or “Pink Month”.

Breast Cancer, like any ailment or condition, can be a life-long fight that is becoming more common by the day. TerraVida aims to celebrate everyone’s obstacles/challenges, and support those in need to help overcome them! One way TerraVida provides support is by raising awareness of such conditions and donating what they can to help support both the supplemental organizations and people who need it.

In October 2020, TerraVida was able to raise over $3,700 and donate the funds to a wonderful organization called Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC). LBBC is a nonprofit organization aiming to support those who are/have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer through programs, services, helplines and more. TerraVida was honored to raise this donation by creating a dedicated pink Breast Cancer ribbon battery to sell to patients and donating a portion of the profits. This way the local communities were involved in learning more about LBBC, Breast Cancer, and helping support those fighters in an accessible way.

While Breast Cancer is such an important condition that requires constant strength, TerraVida recognizes that it is only one of the many conditions and ailments that community members struggle with every day. Looking at the 23 qualifying conditions for Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana alone, TerraVida knows that each of these conditions – in addition to others – take a toll on the members of the community, and their families. Because of this, TerraVida dedicates itself to creating awareness around these conditions on their given months/days and finds ways to support and donate to local and national organizations to help.
