Center School's Virtual Summer Literacy and Math Program

Virtual Morning Learning and Enrichment, Grades 1 through 8

July 6 to July 31, 2020

Summer Learning and Enrichment Program provides students in grades 1 through 8 with teacher-directed Zoom lessons. Our experienced teachers deliver Center School’s trusted curriculum with a focus on literacy, math, and team building activities so that students develop and maintain skills, practice effective learning strategies and increase abilities. Small Zoom classes will target the learning needs of your child while nurturing their confidence and guiding them in realizing their potential.

Center School’s Virtual Summer Learning and Enrichment Program covers phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and math instruction and practice through interactive and computer-based activities. Executive function skills of organization, problem solving, and flexible thinking are woven into social and team activities.

Students will require access to a computer so that they can engage with the lessons offered each morning and afternoon. If you are in need of a computer, Center School can provide one.

This year, due to the impact of COVID-19 on our community, Center School is offering financial aid for our summer program. See below for summer cost options and the link for our summer financial aid.

Virtual Afternoon Enrichment
Grades 1 through 8
Week 1: July 6 to July 10, 2020- Creative Arts 1
Week 2: July 13 to July 17, 2020-Creative Arts 2

In Creative Art, campers will explore their creativity and imagination. Students will view pre-recorded art lessons and then participate in live small group Zoom lessons for personalized feedback. These art classes will present an array of diverse projects and techniques for the students to have fun and enjoy. Materials will be provided.

Week 3: July 20 to July 24, 2020-Science Explorers: Virtual Mix It Up!
This week of fun-filled science exploration includes mixing up all kinds of fun concoctions. Supplies will be mailed directly to your home for students to engage in the activities. Parents will need to have their child logon an ipad, computer or iphone.

Week 4: July 27 to July 31, 2020-Virtual Fun and Fitness (grades 1-6 only)
Housel Fun and Fitness is a mobile fitness business specializing in children’s wellness. This year, children will engage virtually in interactive musical, fitness adventures. A live host will interact with the students while using high quality pre-recorded videos for students to follow along.
