Code Red Heat Alert Issued for Montgomery County
Temperatures are expected to be dangerously hot in Montgomery County over the next several days.

A 'Code Red' Hot Weather Health Warning has been issued by Montgomery County, the county's Department of Public Safety has announced.
The warning will be in effect from Wednesday, July 6 through Saturday, July 9, 2016 between noon and 8 p.m. each day.
The county notes that very young children, the elderly, and those with chronic medical conditions should especially take precautions.

Friends, relatives, or neighbors should check on people who may be at risk.
Temperatures are expected to peak at 92 to 95 degrees from Wednesday through Saturday.

The county issued the following tips to help stay safe in the hot weather:
- Drink plenty of non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated fluids.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
- If at all possible, try to get outdoor work completed during the morning to avoid the warmest part of the day
- Keep windows and interior doors open when running a fan at home.
- Keep cool by seeking an air-conditioned building if available, if not, seek rest in the shade.
- Most of the Senior Adult Activity Centers (SAACs) are air-conditioned, as are malls and libraries
