CycleBar, the first and only premier indoor cycling franchise, is opening in Abington Township on December 19 and will offer a fun and inspiring low-impact/high-intensity cycling experience for all ages and body types. No matter where people are in their fitness journey, the CycleBar class experience promises to calm minds, elevate moods and revive senses by providing the ride of a lifetime in an exhilarating state-of-the-art CycleTheatre®.

Called CycleBar Abington, the studio, located at 1475 Old York Rd., will celebrate its grand opening with free rides Dec. 19-24th to give the community an opportunity to become familiar with the CycleBar experience and various class formats. There will be discounted membership options this week for new members.

The boutique fitness franchise offers the ultimate indoor cycling experience. With concierge-level service and premium amenities, CycleBar promises a completely immersive experience. Instructors known as CycleStars preside over three CycleBar core class formats – Classic, Connect, and Performance – which are designed to give riders of all fitness levels a unique and exhilarating experience. Using enhanced mood lighting and CycleBeats, proprietary CycleBar playlists that are sent to and can be downloaded by riders after class, CycleStars encourage riders to keep pedaling while performance data known as CycleStats can be monitored on massive flat screen TV’s located in the front of the CycleTheatre.

CycleBar of Abington is owned by Cristy McHugh who will oversee a theater-style indoor cycling studio that holds up to 45 premium Schwinn bikes.

McHugh worked in healthcare operations for most of her career, with the goal of helping people as much as possible. As she moved into higher positions, she found that she was getting further removed from the patients she wanted to help. A fitness advocate herself, McHugh loved spin classes wherever she could find them, and after discovering CycleBar, she knew the concept was one she wanted to bring to as many people as she could.

“I have participated in fitness classes around the area before, but CycleBar is an entirely new level of energy and fun,” said McHugh. “I can be barely breathing on a bike, but somehow the CycleStar leading the class keeps me smiling and pushing through. The community and environment at CycleBar is what sets us apart.”

The studio offers pay-per-class, class packs and auto-renewable memberships. Riders will enjoy complimentary shoe rental, filtered water, towels, and lockers.
