Eastern Cosmetology Student Works to Benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Erika Rambo, an Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (Eastern) Cosmetology student and Abington Senior High School senior, will hold a public cosmetology clinic April 6, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The clinic will take place at Eastern, located at 3075 Terwood Road in Willow Grove, and proceeds from the event will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

According to an Eastern press release, Erika chose the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society because her uncle had Leukemia and passed away when he was 40 years old. Since her uncle’s passing, Erika’s father has been donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on a regular basis and, this prompted her to find a way to raise funds.

“Running this clinic is the ideal way for me to raise money for a great cause, while also getting the opportunity to practice what I love to do,” Erika said.

The April 6 public Eastern Hair Clinic services will include:

• Shampoo and blow-dry - $5

• Thermal curls/straighten - $8

• Formal style and up-do - $12

• Haircut and blow-dry style - $15

• Roller set - $5

• Braids - $5

Chemical services include:

• Single process color - $15

• Double process color -$22

• Partial highlights - $14

• Full highlights - $25

Nail servces include:

• Manicure - $5

• Hot oil manicure - $7

• Gel nails - $12

Skin care services include:

• Eyebrow wax - $6

• Lip wax - $5

• Tweezing - $5

• Facial - $8

According to the release, Erika has promoted the event at both Eastern and Abington Senior High school through posters, e-mail and sign up sheets, and her family and friends have been extremely helpful passing along the clinic information sheets.
