Forensic Science and TV: A Consultant's Experience comes to Glenside

For the past 17 years, Mr. Gregory Laskowski, President of Criminalistics Services International LLC, has served as a forensic consultant on TV shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, BONES, Law and Order, The Blacklist and more. On Monday October 29th, Gregory Laskowski will host a free, live, web-based event to share tales from his many years of forensic TV consulting. Can YOU “spot the fake science?”

Thanks to the popularity of the breakout of TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and others like it, public interest in forensic science has skyrocketed and forensic pop-culture has gone mainstream. This phenomenon -unofficially known as “the CSI-Effect”- has provided the public with a greater understanding of forensics as a means to solve crimes and convict perpetrators. Over the past decade, “The CSI Effect” has manifested in classrooms and courtrooms across the globe. This Monday, Gregory Laskowski will discuss how The CSI Effect has changed the public’s perception of forensic testing and its impact on the evolution of the field. Fans of TV crime dramas will have a unique opportunity to view and ask questions at this exciting event!
