Fourth Coronavirus Death In Montco, 371 Cases Total
This marks the third death in Abington Township and the fourth overall in Montgomery County since the new coronavirus outbreak began.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The fourth coronavirus-related death in Montgomery County was reported Friday during the county's daily update on the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. Officials also said there are 58 new cases in the county.
During Friday's news conference, officials said a 95-year-old man from Abington Township died.
Officials said he was in the hospital at the time of his death, but did not have information on any potential underlying health issues.

This marks Abington's third death tied to the virus. Two other people in Abington — 84-year-old man and a 72-year-old man — have died from the virus.
A 62-year-old man from Whitemarsh Township also died, officials said Thursday.

There are now 371 cases in the county with 58 new cases announced Friday.
Of the 58 new cases, ages ranged from 12 to 83 years old.
The breakdown of demographics is:
- six are ages 10 to 19;
- 14 are ages 20 to 29;
- six are ages 30 to 39;
- seven are ages 40 to 49;
- 10 are ages to 50 59;
- 11 are ages 60 t0 69;
- three are ages 70 to 79;
- and one is 80 to 89.
Thirty-four of the new cases are women, and 24 are men. One of the 58 new cases required hospitalization.
Lower Merion Township has the highest case count in the county with 68. Abington has 29 cases. Cheltenham and Lower providence have 27 each.
