Glencairn Museum offers 'Time Travelers' family backpack tour for kids and adults
Weekend tours take families back in time through art, architecture and hands-on activities.
A museum—like a time machine—is where the present meets the past. Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn offers families a one-hour adventure in ancient Egypt and Greece and medieval Europe accessed via the museum’s unique collection and children’s curiosity.
A mix of art, history, world cultures, science, math and comparative religion, the “Time Travelers” one-hour tour includes hands-on activities with hieroglyphs, coins and compasses that lead to a voyage of discovery through the halls and rooms of Glencairn Museum.
The museum provides a backpack with supplies for each youngster—participants provide their sense of adventure and deductive skills.
