Glenside 4th Of July Fireworks, 2020 Celebration Canceled
Glenside's traditional Fourth of July celebration and fireworks may have been canceled, but you can still support the event in 2020.
GLENSIDE, PA – July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel their Fourth of July events, and that now includes the annual celebration in Glenside.
Organizers of the popular and historic event announced back in late May that all Fourth of July activities have been canceled for 2020.
That includes the children's morning program in Renniger Park, the Glenside Annual Parade, the Fireworks Spectacular at Abington High School, and the June 27 Keep the Parade Running 5k.

"While the time-honored GGPA (Greater Glenside Patriotic Association) events are cancelled for this year, the 4th of July of course is not," organizers said in a statement. "The GGPA knows that now, more than ever, it will be an important day to celebrate our Country and each other. We hope that you are able to do so in a safe and joyous manner and we look forward to seeing everyone again for our best Celebration yet in July 2021!"
The Association is selling red, white, and blue July 4 t-shirts to support local first responders. Shirts are $20. Email glensidepride@gmail.com with your color choice and size.
