Jenkintown Resident Launches Christmas Tree Delivery Startup

The unique new local business offers contactless delivery of trees throughout the area, with some proceeds going to local food banks.

JENKINTOWN, PA — A unique new business in Montgomery County aims to help "save Christmas" by offering contactless delivery of trees amid the pandemic and donating a portion of proceeds to local food banks.

The startup, Express Evergreens, is the creation of Jenkintown resident and Doylestown native Jason Toutkoushian.

“We decided to go 100% online with the hopes we would be able to give back to our local community members who might need it this Christmas season," Toutkoushian said.

Toutkoushian noted the national Christmas tree shortage, and a simultaneous desire to find a way to help community members in need, as inspiration for the project.

Customers can order trees online at ExpressEvergreens.com. In the checkout section, there is an option to select the food pantry which you'd like your purchase to benefit.

Food pantries listed include operations in Jenkintown, Doylestown, and Ambler.

Delivery is available to residents across Montgomery and Bucks counties.

The website includes a "virtual tree lot" which offers tree selections including Fraser and Douglas firs of multiple sizes, and Concolor fir. There are also Juniper wreaths for sale, decorative pine roping sold in varying lengths, and numerous other tree accessories.

There's also an option to ask for another tree that does not appear on the page; the business will source it from another local seller and deliver it.
