Lane Closures Planned On I-76, I-95, Route 1 Next Week
Motorists should expect delays on several major roadways throughout the Philadelphia region next week.
Lane closures are scheduled in both the evening and daytime hours on several major highways around the Philadelphia region next week for various construction projects and inspections, officials said announced.
I-76, I-676, I-95, and Route 1 will each be restricted for ongoing construction activities.
I-76

The work on I-76 will take place between Montgomery Drive in Philadelphia and the interchange with I-476, according to PennDOT.
Single lane closures will be in place in both directions at various points from Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Crews will be installing part of the Intelligent Transportation System, which ultimately aims to open the shoulder lane to traffic in order to alleviate some of the congestion on the road.
Lane closures are also planned for bridge inspections throughout the week next week, during the daytime hours. The schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, March 19, and Wednesday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. , lane closures are planned on I-676 between the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the I-76 West interchange; a right lane closure is set for the same time on I-76 East at the I-476 North interchnage in West Conshohocken
- A lane will be closed in both directions on March 19-20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on I-76 between Girard Ave. and I-676 East.
- The left lane of I-76 West will be shut down near City Avenue on March 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Route 1
Route 1 will see lane closures overnight in Bucks County next week.
The closures are set for March 18 through March 22, starting at 8 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. the next morning.
The area between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway in Bensalem will be impacted.
Construction crews are removing concrete pavement and installing a new stormwater drainage system, PennDOT said. They're also dismantling overhead signs and working on the Street Road overpass.
I-95
I-95 will see construction work all of next week, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning, in Philadelphia.
The impacted area stretches from Washington Avenue to the I-676 interchange.
On March 18 and 19, two right northbound lanes will be shut down, following two northbound left lane closures on March 20 and March 21. Two southbound right lanes will be closed on March 22.
Bridge inspections will also shut down the right lane of I-95 North at the Edgemont Avenue interchange in Chester, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 18.
A southbound closure is set in the same area at the same time on Thursday, March 21.
