Limekiln Pike Bridge Construction Will Begin Next Week

Traffic lanes will be reduced and detours put in place as construction on the Limekiln Pike Bridge gets underway.

ABINGTON, PA — Traffic lanes will be reduced and detours put in place as construction on the Limekiln Pike Bridge gets underway early next week.

The work will begin on Aug. 24 and is expected to last through Oct. 29, PennDOT officials said.

The restrictions will bring traffic down to one lane only in each direction on Limekiln Pike between Mt. Carmel Avenue and Willow Grove Avenue.

They'll be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

There will also be scheduled overnight detours from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. requiring complete closure of the bridge.

Detour signs will be in place for both pedestrians and motorists.
