Limekiln Pike To Shut Down For Bridge Construction Work

The closure will be in place later this month as crews replace a deteriorating 61-year-old bridge.

ABINGTON, PA — Additional traffic should be expected in parts of the Abington area later this month as crews shut down a key artery for a construction project.

A portion of Limekiln Pike, between Willow Grove Avenue and Mount Carmel Avenue, will be closed from noon on Friday, Jan. 15 through 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, PennDOT announced.

The closure is due to bridge construction and repairs on the structure, which dates to 1959, that carries Limekiln Pike over the SEPTA Regional Rail Line.
