Local PR Company Wins Award at Philadelphia PRSA Pepperpot Awards

The Communication Solutions Group is pleased to announce that PR Specialist Kellie Dietrich has received a Pepperpot Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Philadelphia Chapter. Her recognition in the Community Relations category was based on the volunteer recruitment campaign she developed and managed for Ringing Hill Fire Company. She was awarded the Ladle for her accomplishment during a PRSA Awards Ceremony on Zoom

“I was very excited to win an award for our work with Ringing Hill Fire Company,” said Dietrich, who oversees the campaign.

The goal of the campaign was to increase the fire company’s volunteer base utilizing a new website www.JoinRingingHill.org, social media management and ad targeting, printed recruitment materials, public relations and face-to-face recruitment. The target audience was anyone in Ringing Hill Fire Co.’s boundary in Lower Pottsgrove Township, between the ages of 16-45 who would be interested in training to become a volunteer firefighter, junior firefighter, fire police or auxiliary member.

Before Ringing Hill Fire Company’s volunteer recruitment campaign began, the suburban fire company had a total of 29 members. Their goal was to obtain five new members per year over a four year period for 20 new volunteers. Since the campaign launch in January 2020, Ringing Hill exceeded its goal by bringing on 26 new firefighters in nine months, and 44 volunteer inquiries.

“Not even a full year into the four-year effort, it feels great to have exceeded their recruitment goal and help them acquire even more volunteers to serve the community in the years to come,” said Dietrich.

“I am very proud of Kellie and all our team members whose hard work not only yielded an award, but more importantly resulted in more firefighters committed to saving lives,” added Founder and President Leza Raffel. “We are honored to be recognized by Philadelphia’s public relations community.”

Held annually, the PRSA Pepperpot Awards recognizes the best PR campaigns, tactics and professionals in the Philadelphia region. This year’s event was held virtually on December 1 and featured a special guest appearance by CBS 3 news anchor Ukee Washington.
