Medical Marijuana Curbside & Delivery

Local dispensary exceeds 1,500 home deliveries.

COVID-19 has brought many challenges upon our local communities. For many, anxiety and fear may build with the thought of leaving their homes to obtain their medicine. Many patients are also struggling to be able to visit their doctors and retrieve their medications during this time – especially those patients of the Pennsylvania medical marijuana program – many of whom have conditions that would inhibit them from leaving their home.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health recognized these concerns and challenges, and with the Governor’s authorization, in accordance with the Proclamation of Disaster Emergency, issued a response to the COVID-19 emergency by temporarily allowing dispensaries of the Pennsylvania medical marijuana program to offer additional services such as:

  • Allowing dispensary employees to provide medical marijuana to a cardholder in the vehicle on the facility’s property (curbside pickup)
  • Removing the current cap that limits the number of patients to an assigned caregiver
  • Allowing Act 16 compliant delivery
    • Act 16 caregiver: the individual designated by a patient, of if the patient is under 18 years of age, an individual under section Act 16 & 506 (2), to deliver medical marijuana

These temporary services ensure medical marijuana patients have access to medication and minimize the amount of patients in the dispensary at a given time.

At TerraVida, the safety and health of our patients and coworkers is our highest priority. Once these permissions were granted, TerraVida knew that these processes needed to be readily available as soon as possible for patients to utilize.

From the beginning of the pandemic, TerraVida has implemented online ordering for scheduled curbside pickup appointments. This allows patients to easily choose their medicine, schedule a pickup time, and receive their medicine from the comfort of their own vehicle. This process has greatly helped patients minimize contact with others, and ensures that patients are receiving the medicine they need.

TerraVida understands how important it is for patients to have a delivery option in order to help those who are at-risk & immunocompromised, and do not have a caregiver to pick up their medicine for them. Since Pennsylvania has never had medical marijuana delivery before, this was a new process that needed to be outlined and implemented quickly & correctly, ensuring the process is Act 16 complaint, in order to ensure there are accommodations for all patients.

Patients looking to utilize TerraVida delivery services may follow these easy steps:

  1. Have a PA Medical Marijuana Card and live within 30 miles of a TerraVida dispensary location
  2. Contact the TerraVida delivery team at 267-636-9997 to sign-up
  3. Follow our instructions to register with our designated caregiver on the Department of Health’s website
  4. Visit our website to order online and select delivery
  5. Remain at home while TerraVida delivers your medicine!

That’s it. Simple & easy. Everything will be explained during the call with our staff, and patients can of course always contact us with questions or feedback.

This free delivery service became very helpful to patients, with over 1,500 total home deliveries to patients within a 30-mile radius of our dispensaries since March 2020! As we are preparing for future months of our ‘new normal’ we have hired a team of delivery staff and drivers to ensure we can meet all our patients’ needs.

TerraVida hopes to continue serving the patients of our community and beyond with a goal to help ease the many stressors our world is enduring, and continue helping patients heal one delivery at a time. Remember, we are all in this together!
