WYNCOTE, PA — The investigation into the missing Montgomery County child continued on Tuesday, a day after the six-year-old boy was safely found in New Jersey and his father and another adult were taken into custody. The child, Isaac Hwang, has now been reunited with his mother.

Isaac had originally gone missing on Sunday afternoon, along with his father, Jaemyung Hwang. The case became even more threatening after a missing persons alert was issued for Isaac, a fire at Jaemyung Hwang's Wyncote home earlier Sunday was determined to be arson.

Police have not yet stated who set the fire, nor given a reason for why it was set, but while searching for Isaac did characterize him as "at risk."

However, there was no Amber Alert issued for Isaac because "there was no clear evidence at the time that this was an abduction and not a missing person," Cheltenham Township Police said. Local police said this decision was made by Pennsylvania State Police, and that the alternate choice — a Missing Endangered Person Advisory — wound up being crucial in marshaling the resources needed to track the father and son down.

They were ultimately found in their vehicle in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on Monday afternoon, in the company of a third man who has not been identified by police.

Officials called the end result a "well-coordinated effort across several law enforcement agencies."

Specific criminal charges against Jaemyung, as well as the other unidentified adult, have not yet been announced.
