Montgomery County ZIP Codes With Most Coronavirus Cases

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Montgomery County has more than 3,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to new data released by the state Monday that shows specific cases by ZIP code.

It should be noted, this data is distinct from the numbers released by the county on the municipal level. These numbers show cases by zip codes which, in many cases, cover larger and different geographical regions than the municipality in question's borders, providing another way of looking at how the virus has spread in the local area.

In Montgomery County, the ZIP codes with the highest number of cases include Ambler (19002), Glenside (19038), Lansdale (19446), Norristown (19401 and 19403), and Collegeville (19426), the data shows.

The numbers below also include a few zip codes that are primarily contained in other counties, like Chester, but which overlap into Montgomery.

Montgomery County, along with Philadelphia, has been one of epicenters of the virus in Pennsylvania. While the county has seen 164 deaths, most of them in nursing homes, Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said that the swift response of many local officials, particularly school superintendents, "helped save Montgomery County from looking like New York City."

Local hospitals have been able to keep pace, with 104 I.C.U. beds available as of Tuesday, data from the state shows.
