New Jenkintown Acunpuncture Practice Focuses on Holistic Health
New Jenkintown Acupuncture Practice, Four Seas Acupuncture, Focuses on Patients' Whole Self
Jenkintown – People looking for holistic health options, rooted in more than 2,500 years of tradition, need to look no further than Jenkintown. Board Certified Acupuncture practitioner Ine Jones opened her business, Four Seas Acupuncture, located at 200 Old York Road, Jenkintown, on January 5, 2020.
Jones fell in love with Jenkintown and the quaint area while she completed her Master of Acupuncture Studies Degree at The Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, the only accredited school of Chinese Medicine in the state.
In addition to acupuncture, Jones works as a respiratory therapist and yoga instructor. Her journey with holistic health started almost 20 years ago through practicing yoga. She has spent this time deepening her practice and study of various methods to bring harmony and balance to the body, mind and spirit. Four Seas Acupuncture is the culmination of her experiences as a health care professional and her passion for holistic health.

“As I started to find health and balance for myself through holistic medicine, I became passionate about learning, teaching, sharing and offering these holistic practices to others,” she said.
Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile, hair-thin, disposable, filiform needles into acupuncture points on the body to produce a therapeutic effect. These acupoints are located on energetic pathways called meridians that run along the front, sides and back of the body and chi is the vital energy that runs along these pathways. During treatment, stimulation of these acupoints can help to relieve pain and other symptoms, strengthen the immune system and promote harmony in the body to create an optimal environment for the body to repair itself and maintain balance.

In addition to the acupuncture treatments that happen at Four Seas Acupuncture, they also utilize cupping, guasha, moxa, acupressure, electro-acupuncture, breath work and meditation, as well as dietary and lifestyle changes, to promote and maintain health. Overall, Jones sees her role as a partner and advocate in her patients’ journey towards optimal health and wellness.
People struggling with chronic and acute pain conditions, sports injuries, depression, anxiety, seasonal allergies, headaches and smoking cessation should give acupuncture a try.
Chinese medicine views health conditions through a slightly different lens than Western medicine, however, there is a growing body of evidence to support its effectiveness in treating a variety of conditions. It is recognized as an effective way to treat more than 30 symptoms, conditions and diseases by the World Health Organization. Research has shown that acupuncture affects endorphin and serotonin levels that help to modulate pain and mood. Acupuncture is increasingly being offered in integrative health settings at major hospitals in the United States.
At Four Seas Acupuncture, Jones completes a full health assessment to arrive at a Chinese Medicine diagnosis that takes the severity and nature of her patients’ symptoms into consideration, as well as other constitutional factors, and develops an individualized treatment plan in line with their goals and needs. An initial consultation and treatment lasts for 80 minutes while follow up visits last for 60 minutes.
“I enjoy connecting with people, building rapport with patients and helping them feel better than they did when they came in,” said Jones. “I want them to feel heard, cared for and attended to when they visit Four Seas Acupuncture.”
Four Seas Acupuncture will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. Other appointment times may be arranged if needed.
To celebrate her grand opening, Four Seas Acupuncture is offering a free consultation for appointments scheduled on Mondays in the month of January 2020. Appointments can be booked at 610- 331-7117.
