Nova-Bound Abington Basketball Star Named PA Player Of The Year

Congratulations Eric Dixon!

ABINGTON, PA — The good news keeps rolling in for Eric Dixon.

Just a few weeks following the Abington senior's announcement that he had decided to play basketball for Villanova University, and just a few weeks after Nova won their second NCAA National Championship in just three years, Dixon has been honored with statewide recognition.

He was named to the 2017-18 Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Boys Basketball Class 6A First Team.

Dixon, a 6'6, 260 pound forward, is among the nation's premier crop of recruits. Rivals has him ranked as the 70th recruit in the nation, and the number 2 recruit in all of Pennsylvania.

Dixon, who also received interest from schools like Georgetown and Virginia, among others, was the first Villanova basketball student-athlete to commit to the 2019 class when he announced his decision in April.
