Follow these 5 steps to learn how to become a patient of the
Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program:

(1) Register with the Department of Health
To get started with the Pennsylvania medical marijuana program, new patients will first need to register online on the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s website. When on the site patients will need to create a profile by filling out the required information. The best guidelines for registering include following the information on your state driver’s license and filling out the fields in all CAPS. To begin your registration, visit the page here.

(2) Visit a Certifying Physician
In order to get started in the program, one must meet with a certifying physician, in order to ensure they qualify for the program. During this time, the doctor will go through the patient’s diagnosis paperwork and will discuss their symptoms with them. After confirming the information, the doctor will approve the patient’s registration with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The average cost for a yearly certification is approximately $200.

If you are in search of a recommending physician local to your area, you can fill out this form.

(3) Pay the Department of Health Fee
Once the recommending physician issues the certification into the DOH system, the patient will need to log in to their online profile portal on the DOH site to pay the $50 card fee.

(4) Wait for your Card
After registering online, meeting with the recommending physician, and paying the $50 fee to the state, the medical marijuana ID will be mailed out through USPS. This process may take approximately 10 business days.

(5) Visit TerraVida Holistic Centers
When the patient receives their card, it is imperative to check the “issue date” labeled on the ID card. This date is the first date patients may visit the dispensary. The state mandated system will not allow ID cards to scan before their issue date. TerraVida Holistic Centers dispensaries are located in Sellersville, Abington, and Malvern Pennsylvania. TerraVida Holistic Centers has medical professionals and product specialists on site at all locations to assist with dosing and product selections.
