Teen Charged In Shooting At Willow Grove Park Mall

An 18-year-0ld was taken into custody Friday after a shooting at the mall following an argument left one man hospitalized.

WILLOW GROVE, PA — A teenager has been arrested after a shooting incident at the Willow Grove Park Mall recently left one man hospitalized.

Heyzer Perez-Maldanado, 18, of Philadelphia, was charged with attempted murder after being taken into custody on Friday.

The shooting occurred on the evening of Nov. 15 near Nordstrom Rack.

According to the Abington Township Police Department, Perez-Maldanado had a verbal argument with the victim inside the mall before shooting took place. The nature of the dispute is not clear.

The victim was found lying on the pavement outside the second-level entrance doors, authorities said. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and it's believed his injuries are not life-threatening.

In addition to attempted murder, Perez-Maldanado was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and carrying a firearm without a license. He's being held at the Abington Police Department before his upcoming preliminary arraignment.
