The Abington Free Library welcomes the spring with a calendar hopping with events for diverse community interests:
Burton Klein Speaks
Prof. Burton Klein speaks on Thursdays this April at 9:30 a.m. in the Shorday Room in this free lecture series. According to www.burtonkleinspeaks.com, Klein, of Strayer University and The College of New Jersey and a former Philadelphia schools' administrator, has a long and award-winning career as a college educator and public speaker.Â

Friends’ Flea Market, Book and Spring Plant Sidewalk Sale
Friends’ Flea Market, Book and Spring Plant Sidewalk Sale will be on Saturday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the Abington Free Library.

There will be spring flowers for planting. Used books on a variety of topics provided by the BookCellar Half-priced for the Sidewalk Sale! Children's Activities and so much more! Abington Free Library Bike Expo
There will be a Bike Expo at the Abington Free Library (North Parking Lot) on Saturday, April 20 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Miko Wright from Abington Wheel Wright Bike Shop will be available to answer your bicycle maintenance questions.Â
Find out about Triathlon and Performance Cycling and training techniques from Keswick Cycle. Learn how to refurbish your bike with Thom Hasenmayer, local cyclist. Same day as. Saturday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the Abington Free Library.

Yoga of Song (A Chanting Workshop)
The workshop will be on Wednesday, May 8 from 7-8 p.m. All ages are welcome. Experience relaxing and energizing chanting for the body, mind and soul. Joseph Rogers-Petro will offer musical instruments such as African drums, tambourines and guitars in this audience participation workshop. Â

A Year of Austen in Books and Films!
Read the book and/or watch the film, come discuss. On certain Thursdays from 7-8:30 p.m. at Abington Free Library.
- Before the May 30 event, read "Sense and Sensibility" and/or watch the 1995 film directed by Ang Lee, starring Emma Thompson.
- Then come by July 25 having read "Emma" and/or watched the 1996 film directed by Douglas McGrath, starring Gwyneth Paltrow.
- Keep these dates open for more "A Year of Austen" events, books and films to be determined later: September 12, 2013, November 14, 2013, February 13, 2014, April 17, 2014.Â
