Wissahickon Grad Will Represent Montgomery Co. In Super Bowl 54
From Montgomery County to the biggest stage in sports: local star Tanoh Kpassagnon will compete for the Chiefs in Super Bowl 54.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — When Super Bowl 54 kicks off in a week and a half, Montgomery County will be represented on one of the biggest stages in all of sports.
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon traces his roots to the local area. The Kalamazoo, Michigan native attended Wissahickon High School in Ambler before going to play his college ball at Villanova.
Kpassagnon, a 2012 graduate of Wissahickon, was inducted into the 2018 Wissahickon School District Hall of Fame. His Hall profile recalls a "a hard working student" who participated in numerous extracurricular activities outside of his football, basketball, and track stardom. He also was active in the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, CASA, and the Asian Studies Club.

At Villanova, Kpassagnon double-majored in accounting and finance and interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers, before being selected with the 59th overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The 2019 season saw Kpassagnon take on an even larger role with the Chiefs, accounting for 21 tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble. He came up huge in the AFC title game this past weekend, sacking Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill and giving the Chiefs the ball back at a decisive 4th quarter moment:

As much as he's been noted for his tremendous athleticism and dedication on the field, he's received high praise off the field, too, such as from his former coach at Villanova, Andy Talley.
Congrats to this former Villanova Wildcat, Tanoh Kpassagnon of the Kansas City Chiefs heading to the Super Bowl! A great player, but a better person. pic.twitter.com/8VcUgUk6wq

He's also stayed engaged in the Wissahickon community, donating backpacks to the school's football team and sending motivational messages.
Kpassagnon isn't the only reason for Philly-area fans to pull for the Chiefs: Kansas City also boasts longtime Eagles star LeSean McCoy, and, of course, they're led by long time Eagles head coach Andy Reid.
The Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54 on Sunday, Feb. 2.
