Woman In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car In Abington

ABINGTON, PA — A 64-year-old woman is in critical condition after a driver struck her in Abington over the weekend.

The incident occurred at 3:47 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 near the intersection of Old York Road and Wheatsheaf Lane.

The woman was riding her bicycle when a car, heading north on Old York Road, ran the red light and struck the woman, police said.

Authorities said the driver "lost control" after proceeding through the "steady" red light.

The victim was transported to Abington Jefferson Health Hospital.

Police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed.
